Memorial this Saturday for Washington County officer who died from ALS

A funeral service will be held this Saturday for Washington County Sheriff's Office Corporal Toby Candilora who died Oct. 7 after succumbing to ALS.

Candilora, 35, was diagnosed last year with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, known as Lou Gehrigs's disease. He was with the Sheriff's Office for six years, working on the hostage negotiations team, before retiring after being diagnosed with ALS.

The memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 24 at Cedar Mill Bible Church, 12208 N.W. Cornell Road. After, a procession will travel to the graveside service at River View Cemetery, 300 S.W. Taylor's Ferry Road.
