ADVERTISEMENTS
Washington County’s Department of Land Use and Transportation will be doing nighttime paving on the Murray Boulevard/Cornell Road corridor project in Cedar Mill from 7 p.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday, and again from 7 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday.
Cornell Road itself and Murray north of Cornell will be paved tonight (Thursday).
On Friday night, Murray Boulevard from south of Cornell Road to Highway 26 will be paved. The work may cause up to 20-minute traffic delays.
The public is encouraged to use alternate routes. Message boards are up and flaggers will be onsite to direct traffic.
This improvement project is reconstructing a vital Cedar Mill intersection.
Murray Boulevard north of Sunset Highway has been widened to four lanes, with turn lanes, bike lanes, sidewalks and landscaping. Turn lanes were added to Cornell Road, along with a new traffic signal at Cornell and Science Park Drive.
This project is funded by county property taxes through the Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP).
