Cleveland’s KeyBank opens a new bank branch Monday near Bridgeport Village in Tigard. The banking company also announced plans to open many more branches in the Portland market.
The new branch, at The Pointe at Bridgeport, 7152 S.W. Hazelfern Road, is Key Bank’s third in the Tigard and Tualatin area and 38th Portland-area branch.
The company expects to open another branch in Portland’s Pearl District in September, and one in East Gresham in October.
The company also announced plans to build up to 20 Portland-area branches in the next two to three years.
“Oregon and Southwest Washington comprise one of the most promising markets in Key’s 13-state community bank branch network,” said Brian Rice, president of Key’s Oregon and Southwest Washington district. “At a time when some financial institutions are retrenching, we are bullish on Oregon.”
Key Bank Stinks. Don't go there, folks
I've been a customer of Key Bank for over 30 years (before there was even a Key Bank as such). I've been using their Online Banking ever since they started it.
Recently they decided to force me to change my password. I called and emailed customer no-service and nobody could give me a reason why. None of the other secure websites I deal with seems to think changing passwords is necessary.
I already have more than enough logon names, user names, passwords, and other codes to remember. This would be just one more complication and I don't need it.
So, I'm FIRING this giant monster mega-bank and going to a credit union, as Clark Howard suggests. Everybody needs a bank, but NOBODY needs a bank that's going to make arbitrary decisions about your account and YOUR MONEY.
"Been there"
