Reported crime in Sherwood, Tualatin and Tigard
Sherwood
The Sherwood Police department received the following reports last week:
Sunday, Nov. 15
- Jacob Richards, 18, of Clackamas, was arrested and charged with second-degree disorderly conduct, fourth-degree assault and unlawful possession of cocaine.
- David Seward, 42, of Beaverton, was charged with DUII.
Saturday, Nov. 14
- John Wilson, 35, of Eugene, was charged with DUII.
Tuesday, Nov. 10
- A dirt bike was reported stolen in the 17000 block of Meinecke Road. Estimated value of the bike was $600.
Tigard
The Tigard Police Department reported the following arrests Nov. 10 through Nov. 17: warrants — 2; theft — 14; criminal mistreatment — 1; minor in possession of alcohol — 3; DUII — 2; reckless driving — 1; criminal trespass — 2, menacing — 1; reckless endangering — 1; driving while suspended — 1; identity theft — 1; hit and run — 1; drug related — 2. Of these, three resulted in juvenile arrests.
Tuesday, Nov. 17
- The Astro gas station at 12885 S.W. Pacific Highway was robbed early Wednesday morning. A man approached a manager and demanded money. No weapons were seen on the man, and the exact amount that was stolen was not released. Police responded with K-9 units, to track him, but no arrests were made.
- A woman in the 15300 block of Regent Terrace called police because of threatening text messages and phone calls she had been receiving from an ex-boyfriend. The woman told police that she had received more than 20 messages and phone calls that evening alone.
Monday, Nov. 16
- A man in the 10700 block of Highland Drive called police, believing that burglars were on his back porch. Although he could not see anyone in the dark, he heard a lot of commotion and believed that they were moving his barbecue, which caused the motion censor light to turn on. Police later learned that it was Monday’s windstorm that was disturbing the barbecue, not potential burglars.
- A drunken man was seen lying upside down in the bushes along the Fanno Creek Trail, in the 12500 block of Main Street, near the Tigard Police Station. The man was heard screaming and yelling at passersby. He had earlier been seen walking along Main Street, bleeding from the arm. He attempted to enter the McDonald’s restaurant at 12090 S.W. Main St., but was refused service.
n A woman in the 14700 block of 109th Avenue called police to report a potential scam. The woman had been contacted by the Publisher’s Clearing House — or someone claiming to be the Publisher’s Clearing House — and was notified that she had won $2.5 million. However, in order to receive the money the woman would need to send the company $300.
n Several Playstation video games were stolen from a house in the 8100 block of Carole Court. Residents of the house believe that the person entered through back door and had used a key.
- Two women stole three large containers of paper towels and three large jugs of Tide laundry detergent from the Safeway supermarket at 15570 S.W. Pacific Highway. The two women were caught on the store’s video surveillance cameras.
- A man riding his bike on the corner of Knoll Drive and Hall Boulevard was attacked by two pit bulls, causing him to crash. The dogs belonged to a man living in the area and were running around the area without leashes. The man on the bike did not need medical attention.
Sunday, Nov. 15
- A tree and shed were reportedly lit on fire in the 14600 block of 89th Avenue by a former resident of the house. Current residents told police that the man had not lived in the house for some time.
- A single gunshot was reported in the 10300 block of Greenburg Road, near the Red Lobster seafood restaurant. Police logs note that it sounded like a large caliber handgun.
- The body of a dead deer was discovered near Alberta Rider Elementary School at 14850 S.W. 132nd Terrace.
- The cell phone and backpack of a woman in the 11400 block of 135th Avenue was stolen from her car, after she left it partially unlocked overnight. The woman told police that she suspected local children in the area had taken the belongings.
- Shots were reportedly fired in 11600 block of Hall Boulevard. Police logs note that the incident involved three people. Traffic on Hall Boulevard was stopped while police searched the area for the gunmen. The gunmen did not shoot anyone when the firearm went off, but police did say that the gunshots resulted from a fight the men were having about a woman. One man was beaten during the fight. The weapon was recovered and one man taken into custody.
Saturday, Nov. 14
- A woman in the 11400 block of 115th Avenue reported receiving an anonymous call saying that they were on their way to the house and were going to kill the woman’s 17-year-old brother. The brother was not at home at the time.
- During a fight in the 9580 block of North Dakota Street, a woman was hit in the face by a screen door, opened by the woman’s “kind of” boyfriend. The man had come to the house to pick up some of his belongings and the two had begun to fight while he was still outside the home.
- A man in the 15190 block of Royalty Parkway called police after a man had been coming to his door, every other day, for more than a week. The man would knock on the door and attempt to give the man some papers, which the man refused to accept. The man told police that he had filed complaints against the man with the Better Business Bureau, in an attempt to get the man to leave him alone. Police later discovered that the man was in the process of being served by a court service, but was refusing to accept the subpoenas.
Friday, Nov. 13
- A shoplifter who had robbed the Rite Aid pharmacy at 12080 S.W. Main St. ran from security, dropping several of the items he had attempted to steal. The shoplifter then jumped into a waiting U-Haul truck and drove off. One of the items that the man dropped in his hurry to escape was his cell phone.
Thursday, Nov. 12
n Two people were reported smoking marijuana and Methamphetamine in the bathroom of Maddy’s lottery, 12085 S.W. Hall Blvd.
Wednesday, Nov. 11
- The clothes dryer in the Hawthorne Villa Apartments, 7709 S.W. Pfaffle St., was broken into during the night, in an attempt to steal coins from the machine.
- The back window of a car parked at United Pacific Forest Products, 7157 S.W. Beveland Road, was shattered.
- A dead deer was discovered in the driveway of a home in the 12170 block of Bull Mountain Road. Callers told police that the deer had been hit by a car during the night.
- A Blackberry cell phone was delivered to a woman in the 13100 block of Ascension Drive. The woman had never ordered the phone. In total five phones had been ordered by an unknown user and billed to the woman.
- Employees at Costco Wholesale, at 7850 S.W. Dartmouth St., called police after a woman attempted to pass a fraudulent prescription for OxyContin, a narcotic pain reliever. The woman had attempted to pass a similar fake subscription in Wilsonville the day before.
Tuesday, Nov. 10
- A woman in the 7800 block of Dartmouth Street phoned police to report that her Honda Civic had been stolen. The car was later found parked on the other side of the parking lot.
Tualatin

Saturday, Nov 14
- Someone at Tualatin High School, 22300 S.W. Boones Ferry Road, reported the theft of an iPhone valued at $750.
Friday, Nov. 13
- Someone in the 8400 block of Southwest Blake Street reported an identity theft of credit and debit card numbers.
n Antonio Hernandez Castaneda, 35, of Tualatin was arrested on assault charges. He also had other warrants out for his arrest.
Thursday, Nov. 12
- Someone in the 20300 block of Southwest Tenino Court reported a car break-in and theft, causing $356 in missing property.
n Derek Tyson Cooper, 20, of Tualatin, Jamey Donovan Couch, 21, of Lake Oswego and Nicholl Jai Morgan, 19, of Tualatin, were arrested for possessing more than 1 ounce of marijuana.
Wednesday, Nov. 11
- Ululani R. Landford, 35, of Tualatin was arrested at Fred Meyer, 19200 S.W. Martinazzi Ave., for reportedly shoplifting $89 in groceries and $124 in clothing.
n Employees at the Apple Store, 7293 S.W. Bridgeport Road, reported the theft of five Apple iPhones from the store, valued at $2,900.
- Someone in the 7100 block of Hazelfern Road reported a car break-in and theft, causing $375 in missing property, including prescription drugs and clothing.
- Someone in the 7500 block of Southwest Afton Lane reported a case of identity theft and check forging.
Tuesday, Nov. 10
- Someone was arrested at Kmart, 7655 S.W. Nyberg St., for shoplifting $52 in merchandise.
